The Beginning

I call this "The Beginning" because although Dan and I have shared many memories over the years together, in February of 2007 our lives were forever changed. I am of course referring to the birth of our daughter, Ava. For those who do not know Dan and I very well, before February 2007, we enjoyed sleeping in, watching movies, eating out, going on vacations, and did I mention sleeping in! Now, however, things have changed. We may start a movie but chances are we won't finish. We may go out to dinner but it will probably be fast food (not a problem for me). We could plan a vacation but it seems to be more work than its worth. And as for sleeping in....well lets just say, we don't! It may seem as if I am complaining but I wouldn't change a thing! We have given up a lot but we've gained even more! We are now a family with a little girl who melts our hearts daily. Instead of watching movies, we are watching Ava try to sit up on her own and listening to her laugh. Instead of going out to dinner, we are gathering around a highchair dodging sweet potato spit. Instead of vacationing, we are going for walks and visiting family. And instead of sleeping, well I have to be honest, we would still like to get more sleep!

I know I have some catching up to do but my plan is to keep everyone updated on what's happening in our little world and hopefully do a better job of keeping in touch with family and friends.
