I have a tendency to wait so long between posts that I end up having a lot of things to cover, however since it hasn't been that long this time, this is kind of a mini post for me. I'll start with Gavin's first "play date". This is Gavin and little Miss Brynn. Brynn and her sisters were over not too long ago to play, but now that her and Gavin were both moving, it was much more entertaining. They were so intrigued with each other, it was adorable to watch. I will say, we may have a bully on our hands. While Gavin loved watching Brynn and you could tell they were trying to talk to each other, every time Brynn would grab a toy Gavin would crawl right over and try to take it, whine for help, and even tried biting to get it back. He's never cared if his sisters have something, but he sure showed a new side with Brynn. Hopefully he grows out of that rather quickly.
Ava hit another milestone last weekend. It was only a month ago that Ava refused to go off the diving board, but not anymore. Last weekend we couldn't get her to stop jumping off. Once she did it and had fun, she got really cocky! She would climb out of the pool and say "oh yeah baby, I'm gonna jump again. you wanna see this? oh yeah baby!" Here is her can opener...
I took a video and will hopefully be able to post it soon so you can hear her comments. Here's
the cannonball...
After Ava's pool triumph we headed over to Ashton's house for his 3rd birthday celebration. His Mommy and Daddy really wanted Ashton to wear his b-day hat while we sang to him, but he wanted nothing to do with it. They managed to get it on his head for a minute or so, so I grabbed one very quick pic before it was taken right back off.
After swimming, running, digging, and playing outside we decided a quick bath was in order before we headed home. As usual it was impossible to get them all to smile at the camera together, so this was the best I could get. We are running out of tub space....not sure what we'll do once Gavin and London want in too? The kids all had a blast and Ava, Ella, and Gavin all slept in till 8am or later the next day!!(wonderful surprise) Happy Birthday Ashton!!
Lastly, I wanted to mention one more thing. Ava spent everyday last week at Grant's Farm Critter Camp. I was initially nervous with her only being 5 years old and not knowing anyone else at the camp, but she LOVED it!! She got to do so many neat things and can't wait to go back next year! From what I can remember, which isn't everything, she got to feed elephants, goats, camels, lamas, buffalo and elk (elf as Ava called them). She got to groom horses, pet Clydesdale's, see a bird show, elephant show, and seal or otter show. The got to teach/train goats to go through an obstacle course. They made crafts, rode the "train", and took tours daily. And they got to go underground to what Ava described as an underground library? She had so much fun and came home covered in dirt and of course ketchup from lunch everyday. I am so pleased with the camp and hope it
goes this well next year.
