Preschool!!

With Ava off to kindergarten, it was time to get Ella ready for school.  Since no supplies are required and no uniform needed, there wasn't much to do, other than mental preparation.  This isn't Ella's first experience with school, but because it is at a new school, I was a bit nervous. Knowing it took her about 7 months at The Goddard School last year before she would willingly participate in the activities, I wasn't sure what to expect. Yesterday was the first test, and it went really well!
She was excited to go especially knowing Ava would be right upstairs in the Kindergarten classrooms.  She participated in all the activities with the exception of music time.  The kids were allowed to pick out an instrument and "go to town". With Ella's fear of loud noises, it was no surprise she sat to the side covering her ears.  The teachers and I are hopeful she will get use to it and eventually join in the fun.  She did say she played with a little girl who had on a white t-shirt, black skirt and black bow....hmmm...she couldn't remember her name but maybe it was Ella?  I didn't see anyone matching this description at pick up or drop off, so right now I'm assuming she's talking about herself and I wouldn't be surprised.
She enjoyed her "kindergarten school" as she calls it and wanted to go back today.  Unfortunately, there are no openings in the 3 day a week classes so we had to settle for 2 days a week till something opens up...fingers crossed!  I think she's going to love it there, which is a great feeling!
Last weekend Ava continued to fall more in love with wildlife, specifically bugs and frogs!
This is in no way something I would have EVER done as a child, or even now for that matter! She loves it though.  Any creepy crawly thing he can get her hands on, she'll do it and hang on to it as long as possible.  She studies it, smells it, holds it, hugs it and even kisses it.  (She named it prince Naveen from Princess and the Frog) She is way too comfortable around these things for my liking!
Ella's demeanor, however, is much more like mine.  Stand from a distance, use a magnifying glass to get a closer look, and maybe, just maybe..
 touch it with one finger!
"OK Ava time to let the frog go home"..."Oh no, please let me keep it, I'll take care of it!"
"No way, Mom would never agree!"  She finally let it go...
Ella steering clear of the wild creatures and sticking to her bike...that's my girl!
And of course Ava wonders off to see what else she can capture, this time it's a cricket.
Even the little caterpillar didn't stand a chance of not getting noticed.
And he/she had to be studied.
Not sure if her new love will turn into anything long term or if it's an indication of her future career, but she sure is enjoying herself right now.
As for where Gavin is in all these pictures, he was sick and home with me trying to recover before a very important party next weekend!
