The week after we returned from Colorado the girls were signed up to attend art camp at Laumeier Sculpture Park. We had not done this camp in the past and didn't know anyone who had attended, but we though it sounded like fun and if nothing else, it would get the girls out of the house for a few days.
After a week of finger painting with paint and wet mud, nature walks and other hard to tell projects, I don't think we'll be attending the camp again. The girls said they enjoyed themselves, which is good, I'm just not sure what we paid for. Here are the girls giving their best "artsy" pose...
And here are the kids with their friend Isabelle (who also attended the camp) inside the "Cat" sculpture at the park. It was a busy week and it kept the girls entertained, which was the point!
After art camp we had some time off from all activities. No activities = boredom! It was too cold for swim lessons, soccer, gymnastics and dance hadn't started, so we just spent some together time at home. It wasn't very long before we had enough together time and were ready to get out.
We had a few impromptu photo sessions, but other than that we didn't do much. Here's some of us just goofing around. Ava...soon to be a first grader!
Ella...almost in Pre-K.
And this is where I should have Gavin, but every time I pointed the camera at him he would either give me the "stink eye" or turn away from me. So I opted to put in a picture of our not so little puppy, Zoe.
Closing out the month of July we headed out to OFallon for Ashton's 4th birthday party at Jump for Fun. It was a small group of kids, which worked out well. There was never a line to a slide and there were never too many kids in one bounce house.
Ava had fun, but took about 15 minutes to warm up before she was really loving the slides. Gavin kept wanting to try the slides, but I held him back since he is still young. I did eventually give in due to the small crowd and he LOVED it. He would climb to the top (solo), of a very large slide, and just push off. He would fly down the slide and then laugh hysterically. I couldn't get any pictures of Ava or Gavin because they would NOT hold still. I did manage to grab one picture of our biggest dare devil. Ella took NO time to warm up and would climb to the top and then jump down the slide..."it made her go faster and bounce high while sliding"! She was CRAZY!! She makes me nervous for what's to come!
I think Ashton had a blast and he and Ella were inseparable.
I can't believe they are 4 years old, it's so fun to watch their relationship grow.
I hope they stay as close as they are!
