After what seemed like an entire month of celebrating, it was finally Ella's actual birthday! I wanted to make it a special day for her, but I didn't make any plans due to the fact that Ava and Ella had dance recital rehearsals all afternoon. We started the day with a trip to the American Girl store, where Ella picked out her own look a like doll and named her Molly.
Then I started feeling guilty for not having made any plans so I started calling around and throwing together the best impromptu party I could. Luckily, we have great family and friends and we had a great turn out!
Shocking to anyone who knows my girls, but Ella's favorite gift was a stuffed animal.
When she started opening Uncle Brad and Erin's gift there was some confusion. It seemed to be a bag full of bubble wrap? Way at the bottom there was a movie and card...
but the bubble wrap proved to be quite a gift itself. It provided A LOT of entertainment for all the kids. There were 7 kids not counting Fiona (since she wasn't popping any bubbles) which made for a VERY loud 20 minutes!! I have to keep track of these wonderful moments so I can repay Brad when his kid/kids are a little older!
We even managed to get her a cake….it's not a birthday party without the cake and birthday wish!
As the evening drew to a close Ava, Ella and London took turns putting on "shows" of singing and/or dancing. The house was a wreck and we were getting ready to start a busy week of gymnastics, swimming and recitals, but she had a wonderful birthday and felt so special! Thank you to everyone who made it over on such short notice to help us celebrate! One other quick note…at 5 years old Ella is 35lbs. and 3ft 4.5in tall. Still small but strong!!
One other "BIG" positive that came out of that party was Gavin's new desire to be "just like Ashton". Most importantly, just like Ashton, Gavin now wears underwear!!! (unless sleeping) It's amazing what I can get him to do if I just say "this is what Ashton does"! No pressure Ashton, but I'm counting on you to show Gavin right vs. wrong, nice vs. mean, listening skills and all other major milestones :) J/K
Now on to some exciting recitals, among other things.
