At the beginning of September we celebrated Gavin's 3rd birthday! He talked about it for weeks saying "you sing happy birthday to me today?" almost every day and finally it was here. He loved being the center of attention and loved the presents even more!
The big wish!! I think after the candle blowing there was a fair amount of spit on the cake.
Something about watching my kids eat totally grosses me out, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is? I guess I should just be grateful he was using a fork.
As you'll see through out probably many more posts, Gavin's smile has changed a bit. Like the girls, he went from not trying too hard and having a pretty normal smile to trying a bit too hard. Now each time I say "smile Gavin" I am blessed with another unique sweet smile. This one seems like a mix of happy and frightened?
As usual Gavin had plenty of help opening gifts. Ava, Ella, Ashton and London all had there hands in there at some point.
And Miss. Fiona, who is now very mobile, didn't mess with the gifts she preferred having a few Marilyn Monroe moments over the A/C register. :)
Gavin got so many gifts that he has been playing with non-stop, but there were a few he couldn't wait to get outside and test out the day after the party. After watching his sisters ride their scooters A LOT for the last two years he finally got one of his own! Along with a helmet big enough to fit an 8 year old. (for real! his head wouldn't fit in anything smaller!)
He also got his very own Jeep! He shows pretty good promise as a driver, much more than the girls have when they have driven Ashton's Jeep.
Here's another one of Gavin's sweet new smiles. ; / We now take daily drives around the block!
Right before his birthday Gavin went back to school. He goes two days a week to Faith Lutheran Preschool and while he says "Me no school, me no school" constantly in the morning leading up to drop off, once there he runs in barely waving bye to me. This particular day was picture day for school and Gavin was practicing his "smiles".
My baby is three years old!! He talks NON-STOP and is still totally obsessed with anything remote controlled, phones and GARAGE DOORS. He loves to dance and sing songs, can count to 12 (sometimes 20) and can recognize most letters. He also has more energy than the other four of us combined! He enjoys playing Barbie's, house and dance offs just like his sisters. But he also loves to wrestle, run, climb, jump, dig and play with tools especially if there's another boy or Daddy around to play with! Finally, while it was much later than his birthday, we did finally make it to his 3yr check up last week. He weighed in at 29lbs. (21%) and his height was 3' (14%). Perfectly healthy in every way! Thank you to everyone who came and helped us celebrate Gavin's special day, We love you!!
