We made it just in the nick of time, I don't think I could have packed one more lunch or studied for one more test. LOL Gavin was the first to get out. His class celebrated with a field day full of games, face painting (a dog if you're wondering), and popsicles. Gavin did great this year and learned so much. At his year end review, where they are hoping the kids can count to somewhere between 15 and 20, he got to 109 before he told his teacher "I wanna be done counting now". He is now excited to move on to pre-k in the fall.
Next, it was the girls' turn. Here is Ella with some of her friends, so excited to be done with first grade! (Charlotte, Emma, Allyson, Maddie, and Ella) Ella had a great year full of A's and B's, (actually E's and P's since there aren't actually grades quite yet in first) Ella is very happy to be done with first grade, but is not looking forward to second grade. Ava going through second grade is still fresh in Ella's mind, and it's not a pleasant memory, for either of us. It's a tough grade to say the least.
I took the girls and some of their friends to a local park to expend some of their new found energy.
Here are some of the new FOURTH GRADERS!!?? (Katie, Ava, and Hazel) Ava had a fantastic year making straight A's for the first time AND she had perfect attendance all year!! I still can't believe we made it all year with her not getting sick?! Ella would have had it too had her appendix cooperated!
We have been taking full advantage of the less hectic schedule so far this summer. It didn't take us long to head out to G-ma and G-pa F's house for some fun in the sun. The pool wasn't quite ready for us, but that didn't stop the kids from playing in the sprinkler.
It was a beautiful day and once the water was turned off the kids decided to "lay out" for a bit.
I don't want to give you the wrong impression. We are not just laying around this summer. All three kids are in gymnastics, Ava started piano lessons, Gavin is still doing TKD and t-ball, Ella is registered for two soccer camps, Gavin is registered for a YMCA camp, we're vacationing in Florida, and the girls still have to finish up their dance season! We are anything but bored...I'm hoping we can find a few nice, cooler, and slower days to get to the Zoo and Grants Farm. Next up...Parish picnic and Florida!!
