Recital 2016

That time of year again...actually it's September now, but I'm pretending it's June, work with me.  It was a big year for Ava in dance.  She had her first "lead" role as the bride amongst many bridesmaids and one groom.  I already shared this info during her competition season, but the recital was her last big performance.

Ella's recital dances were also a big deal, as it was her farewell performance.  Ella has decided to quit dance and focus all her her free time on soccer.  Quite a decision to make at 7 years old, but no matter how many times I questioned it, she stuck by her decision.

The first night of the recital just so happen to fall on another very important day...Ella's birthday!  Her party was planned for the upcoming weekend, but she still got to pick dinner, her choice? Lion's Choice!  Her current favorite place to eat.  Contrary to the belief of everyone in the restaurant, I did not pump them full of sugar before dinner.

They were acting all sorts of crazy!?

The bride, before her farewell performance...

Ella went out with a bang...she had a jazz dance, tap dance, and hip hop dance.
This was her getup for the jazz and tap dance.

Ella's BFF Emma was in another performance and her close friend Allyson came to watch her friends.  These three are like the three amigos!

It wouldn't be right for the studio to have all our performances on one night, then they could only charge us one night's worth of recital fees.  Instead, we were there three nights!  Ava also had a jazz and tap routine for the recital.  She lucked out and her costume just so happen to be her favorite color this year!  Very poof-y, but as least it's blue?

Our last night we just had one routine to watch (again)...Dear Future Husband...

Because Ella had to do a quick costume change for her hip hop number, I only got one quick shot of her and her many friends from school who took hip hop together.  We're just missing Charlotte.

Ava did a fabulous job on her dances and actually was just recently asked to do 5 competition dances for next year, plus the two recital dances!  That's a lot of dancing!
Ella did a great job on her dances as well, and her two teachers tried their best to get her to tryout for the competition team for next year.  However, much to their dismay, Ella said goodbye to dance and HELLO to more soccer!
