Last weekend Dan took Gavin for his first fishing excursion. To say Gavin was excited would be a massive understatement. He told everyone he knows that he was "going on a fishing trip with Dad". He wore his fishing vest for days, including over his clothes to school, so he could show his whole class "all his pockets". It was chillier than they would have liked, but still a pretty day. Grandpa F got to go with them, which to Gavin, was like the icing on the cake!
Gavin had never been fishing before, but from what I was told, he did great. He was fishing on his own a majority of the time, and lasted almost the whole 5 hours, with a lunch break.
Judging by the pictures that came home, I'm assuming Grandpa played the role of photographer. He got some great shots of my boys.
It was a long day, and while Gavin was ready to catch 100 fish, he settled for 2. LOL
Catch #1...
Catch #2...
Two of Dan's friends were also fishing there with their families. Gavin was too busy fishing to play, plus it was ALL girls.
Break time...
Back to work...
Oops...if you look closely at Gavin's face in this picture you can tell he is crying. And if you scroll down to his pants, you can tell the bottoms are all wet. :( He stepped a little too close to the water and slipped.
I think he recovered quickly, it was probably nerves more than anything.
Gavin had so much fun, and can't wait to go back! Hopefully, next time we can take the girls too!!
