Ava's One!!

I can't believe it but Ava is already one year old!! It seems like yesterday I was coming home from the hospital with this little baby just over 6 pounds. Time seems to move faster every year! While her birthday was actually on Friday we celebrated with a puppy dog themed party on Saturday. I will warn you there are a lot of pictures I just couldn't seem to cut it down!

For those who are unaware, Ava loves dogs. Therefore, it was pretty easy to decide on a theme. NO, we did not get Ava a dog for her birthday....I have enough chew toys around the house and stains on the carpet....maybe someday! (Far off in the future)

Let's say this is Ava showing how many years old she is. This could also be Ava answering to "Where's Dada?".

As you can probably tell Ava does not like having her hair fixed. I am constantly brushing it down and/or sweeping it to the side, but as soon as I do she rubs her head into the ground or nearest stuffed animal. On Saturday the balloons did not help the hair situation.

I know I have mentioned before Ava's love of paper products. This cup was and still is one of her favorite things to play with!

This was the beginning of gift opening. The next few pics are of Ava enjoying the new toys.

Now we begin the next phase of the party "The Cake Phase". We began by trying to put Ava's hat on so we could sing, but she was not liking the hat. (I did try the hat on her at the store before buying it and she had no problem..figures)

Once we turned over the cake to her the hat was no longer a problem. Neither was diving into the cake. The cake was initially a cute small round cake with a pink "1" on the top. Ava, unlike myself, has no problem being a totally disgusting sticky mess!

The hat did eventually get in the way of eating and had to come off.

You would think she would have been hyped up on sugar, but eating all that cake wore her out!

My little baby who is now 29 inches long was covered from head to toe in cake!

Operation "Clean up" was a long and sticky process but eventually everything was back to normal and our birthday girl crashed!

Two days after her party Ava went to the doctor for her one year check up. I am happy to report she is a healthy little girl. She is now 19 pounds and 1 ounce (25%). She's 29 inches long (55%) and still has a very average head size (50%). Our next big milestone is walking....I'm guessing it will be any day! Thank you for all the gifts and cards for Ava's birthday and I will keep in touch.
