No Baby's Perfect!

We have been blessed with a wonderful little girl. Ava doesn't fuss much, she only cries if she's hungry or something hurts, and overall she sleeps a decent amount. However, Ava has found that traditional toys are just not interesting enough and that food and paper products among other things, are much more fun! She also has a few quirks that I can assure you she did not learn from Dan nor I. The proof is below. I should also now state that at no time was Ava in any danger and she never ingested anything harmful:)
Above is the start of a meal. Ava likes to spread out her food. This is either to make a bigger mess or like I use to do, spread out the veggies to make it look like I ate more.

As long as she's hungry Ava is happy to eat!

Our first sign that Ava isn't hungry anymore is when she starts rubbing her eyes which of course gets food in them and inturn leads to more rubbing. Then she begins pulling her hair being sure to get a few chunks of food in there too!

The obvious next step is bathtime, which is one of Ava's favorites. I am not fond of bathtime. I find it to be exhausting! She spends the whole time trying to crawl around and out of the tub! There are toys in the tub, but like I said...BORING!! The only way I can get her to hold still is to turn on the faucet and let her feel the water running out.

Once she's clean I can finally breathe and bedtime is just around the corner!!
:):):)

I wanted to give everyone a look into how Ava spends her days, now that she's 11 months!
We start with a pic of how she kept herself busy while I ate lunch one day. I did not get a pic of the gigantic mess this turned into!

While making dinner I often open the pantry door and Ava proceeds to pull out everything she can reach. Yesterday for the first time she figured out how to open cans (specifically the Crisco can). Luckily I caught her right away. This is when I stuck the pacifier in her mouth, which prevented her from trying to lick her fingers. Then I started the clean up process (not before grabbing the camera) and moved the can to a higher shelf.

While I was cleaning the "Crisco Crisis" Ava had moved on...to the bathroom! I don't think I need to explain what she did!

"What mom? You kicked me out of the pantry."

Believe it or not it doesn't end there! We played for awhile then I thought I could eat....WRONG! I opened the pantry again and had moved all but the boxes from the bottom. I knew she was up to no good when I couldn't hear boxes falling and being banged onto the floor. My little angel figured out how to open the box of pop tarts and gnawed on the wrapper till it split open and then she began gnawing on the pop tart. I caught her before she got to the heart of the sugary filling.

Notice the pop tart crust on the chin!

I know experts suggest you dedicate one of the kitchen cabinets to tupperware, spoons and toys. Well, I have done that and Ava will slam that cabinet shut and spend the next 10 minutes trying to open the one with a lock on it! I can hardly wait till those "terrible two's" or worse those "teen years." She is definitly a ball of energy, but thankfully everybody needs to stop and rest!
