Transition...

We are slowly trying to get ready for the arrival of baby #2. The basement is coming along, we've got the nursery furniture moved into a new room, and Ava's new furniture should arrive today! We weren't sure how the transition to the "big girl" bed would go so we took step one last Saturday. We laid the mattress on the floor so Ava could start getting use to the bed. As you will notice in the pictures we chose to get a queen bed for Ava. The reason for this is so we are not buying yet another larger bed in her teen or college years. We'll see if this was a wise decision. So far I must say Ava has done remarkably well. She stays in her bed till she falls asleep for naps and at night, and she waits for us to come get her when she wakes up.

This picture shows a better representation of the size.
The issue we knew we would face with a queen bed was Ava being able to get in and out. So Grandpa "C" made these steps for her birthday and they work perfectly!!
Here she is all snuggled in for her nap...can you find her?
I'll keep you updated on the transition and hopefully I can post some new pics once the furniture is here and the room is put together.
On another note....

Now I want to switch to a story about a fairy princess.
Ava is getting more and more into the dress up clothes. we started with just accessories, but as you can see in pics below she is now a full blown princess.
Here she is on her thrown
Getting a little more comfortable and going for the skirt. I won't tell you where our little lady was going to stick that finger.
And finally here we are...Princess Ava. (minus the crown)
Ruling the castle on Southcrest Way is a tough job but some one has to do it.
