All I'm going to say is I'm sorry, and that I have been busy painting in the basement. Now I will move on to the long awaited update. Ava's room is nearing completion...yes her bed is huge, but she loves it and sleeps in it very well. Ava loves to show off her new room and "big girl" bed. She also climbs the steps like a champ. I too need a boost to get up into the bed and as I keep expanding there will be less and less mommy time spent in Ava's bed.
Here is the dresser for those who are curious....
The next few pics are of Ava showing off her new bed....I would explain why she doesn't have pants on, but it is a long story.
Here she is showing off her muscles while trying to pull one of her blankets out.
And finally, all cuddled up ready for her nap.
That ends our bedroom update...like I said Ava's room is just about done, but the baby's room has a long way to go. When I sit and think of what we have been up to I can't keep track. I'm sure it would be more helpful if I updated the blog weekly, but that has proven to be quite difficult. Anyway, a few weeks back Ava and I took a trip to TN to visit G-ma and G-pa Carron and Aunt Kristy. We just wanted a relaxing weekend away from all the basement chaos. Although I didn't take many pictures, I did grab one of Ava's highlights from the trip....sitting on G-pa's motorcycle!
Switching gears again....So far in Ava's third year of life it has proven to be more difficult than the first two. She has more energy than ever, which I didn't think was possible. She is not as cautious as she once was and while she's gaining confidence(good), she is also daring(bad). There are more falls, more accidents, and more moments like the one below. Look closely at the wall to the right of Ava and you will notice the ink pen drawn all over. In one of my FEW 5 minute phone conversations, Ava managed to find a pen draw all over her wall and as I discovered after this picture, she also drew all over her new sheets, pillows, and her blanket. This is her guilty face. Usually, there's no eye contact, but I guess the camera made it easier to face me.
Here she's pointing to her art work in case you missed it. The flash made it a little hard to see, but feel free to stop by it's still on display.
In addition to adding artwork, Ava has also decided to help us reorganize. She did a great job of emptying the pantry, but not a great job at putting everything back!
Last weekend, Ava attended her friend Connor's birthday party at the Whittle Train Station. Anyone with a little one, especially a boy, who has not been there, I strongly encourage you to try it. It is free and it is all the trains they could want and more. We have been there a couple times for play dates and Ava likes the trains for about 10 minutes and then she just wants to explore. She is more into taking everything off the shelves in their gift shop areas...if you can imagine that??!(two forks=more cake) After the cake, cookies, suckers, and McDonald's for lunch we had one hyper little girl!!
Well, that brings us up to date. The bedrooms are coming along, the basement is very close to being done and Ava is into everything. As for the new baby, I had an ultrasound and Dr. appointment this morning and she is doing well. She is measuring on the small side so I will now be going every week so they can monitor her growth more closely. By the time June 22nd rolls around I think the doctor will be glad not to see Ava and I every week!! Not to mention I'll be glad not to have to go! We have not picked a name as of yet, but hopefully it will happen soon. I hope you're all doing well and as always I will keep you updated!
