The one and only

Well, with only a little over 2 weeks till Ella gets here Ava has been enjoying her last few days as our one and only baby. She has no idea how her life is going to change, but I think once the initial adjustment period takes place she will love being a big sister. As a big sister myself I think she will enjoy looking after her little sister and helping me care for her. Although we are very excited about welcoming another little baby I can't help but feel a bit sad....I finally have to admit Ava is not a baby anymore...she's growing up so fast. Over the last week we have visited parks, been swimming, and just spending some family time together before our lives are forever changed...again!
Here Ava is doing one of her favorite things at the park...climbing.
She also likes the slides...she's always hesitant sitting at the top, but once she goes for it she loves it.

She also loves walking/balancing on the stone walls around most parks. Just like the curbs in parking lots, the zoo, and Grant's Farm...she thinks they are all balance beams.
After the indoor pool experience went well we decided to try an outdoor pool last weekend. The large giraffe head attached to the pool made it that much more enticing. Ava and giraffe shared some kisses....
and hugs.
She still wasn't a big fan of getting water in her face, but we're working on it. By the time she was ready to get out of the pool she didn't mind the water near as much.
The pool was again a success....maybe next weekend we'll try the big outdoor pool?
Another big event this past week was Ava's graduation from her gym class semester. While Ava still loves her gym class we will be taking this summer off, as we did last summer, but next fall we may try something new. Here is her class after they all received their medals.
Here Ava is on the "podium" after receiving her medal. She was a little nervous and hesitant to look out into the crowd of parents.
Unlike the previous semesters Ava enjoyed getting stamps at the end of each class.
She also did a little better about participating in "the skill of the week." Here it was somersaults on the beam
One thing that did not change from previous semesters is Ava's favorite thing about the gym...the bars. I cannot express how much Ava enjoys swinging from every bar she can get her hands on.
So after a busy week or so of activities we will not be slowing down. As long as this baby stays in my belly we will try to get out and about and have as much fun as we can with our one and only.
