I cannot believe June is already here! After spending almost the entire month of May dealing with illnesses, we are thrilled to be starting a new month! At the beginning of May Ava came down with a horrible virus, which of course spread. Dan soon became ill, then Ella, and finally me. Ella also had Hand Foot and Mouth, a cold, and 5 new teeth come in! Poor little baby was quite the trooper! Towards the end of the month the girls and I packed up and headed to Tennessee. The drive went smooth, thankfully, and the girls loved getting out of our germ infested house for a few days! Here are the girls with G-ma and G-pa C.
While in TN, we visited a small farm that had a few animals and a small playground. It wasn't quite what we were expecting, but Ava still had fun.
The trip was fun and exhausting for her.
Me and my girls....yes, Ella is missing pants. She got a nasty diaper rash and we were letting it air out before being in the car for 4 hours.
Upon returning from TN we had some guests ourselves. Aunt Linzy, Uncle Brian and Ashton came in town for the week. Brian was doing some work in the STL area, so Linzy and I got to hang out with the kids while Dan and Brian worked. It was great to have someone over the age of 18 to talk to during the day....the days flew by. Here we are with a full cart at the grocery store...yet we have no groceries!
Ashton and Ella were very curious of each other at first...not quite understanding who the other little person was.
As the week went on they played together better and better....with the exception of hair pulling, which they both did a lot of. One of the many things Ella taught Ashton.
We spent a little time at the park. Trying to coordinate all the naps, mealtimes, and bottles left us about 30 minutes for the park.
Ava did a wonderful job of going with the flow and being patient when the babies were not on their best behavior. She was also our eyes when we weren't paying attention. On more than one occasion we heard, "Mom, Ella's eating..." or "Linzy, Ashton's doing....". Ava did have one issue....pronouncing Ashton. Every time it came out "Ass-ton". I don't know if we were more in tune to it or what, but it seemed like she said his name over and over. More than she says any other name. Hopefully, Brian's work brings him back in town soon so we can do it again!
That brings us up to the last day of May. We spent Memorial Day at G-ma and G-pa F's house. The little pool was ready for the girls and although Ella wasn't prepared to swim, both girls enjoyed the water.
As Ella gets older Ava is more and more aware of her existence. She is now taking her toys, pulling her hair, and following her everywhere. On some occasions Ava exhibits unconditional love for her little sister.....
On other occasions she makes us very nervous!
