Christmas Festivities Begin

Well, December is in full swing. We've put up the decorations, been shopping, and already attended the first Christmas party. Ava's school had their annual Winter Festival complete with decorating cookies, making ornaments and pictures with Santa. The whole time we stood in line I was hopeful that both girls would do well on Santa's lap. Ella wanted nothing to do with me and even let Mrs. Claus hold her. However, when it came time to sit with the big guy, Ella wanted NO part of it. Ava did GREAT!
After a week away Dan was back and the girls got their favorite jungle gym back. You can see the start of our decorating in the background. Our "socks", as Ava calls them, are hung and the spot where someday we'll have a working TV....long story.
We ran some errands yesterday and stopped by the burger shop...Ava's request. Here she is sporting her hat.
Ella couldn't look up, she was too hard at work on her picture.
Speaking of Ella being hard at work, Ava LOVES to have her back scratched and she will solicit anyone she can to do it, including Ella! And of course Ella did it for her big sister...it wasn't till the third or fourth request that she started saying no.
On another note, Ava did something just last night I would have never expected. She was carrying around an almost empty bag of animal crackers when I noticed something on her forehead. You can barely see it in this picture and most of it is on the top right side of her forehead....she was taking the mashed up crumbs at the bottom of the bag and sprinkling them on her face and head. When asked why she would ever poor crumbs all over her, she responded with, "mom it's not crumbs its pixie dust to help me fly". I couldn't help but laugh and get the camera....I can't believe the things she comes up with!
You can see it a little better in this shot.
Our sweet Ella loves to not have clothes on, so last night when switching to her pajamas she took off running in just her diaper. She also has a love for shoes, within a few minutes she had Ava's old boots on and was strutting her stuff!
I'm sure this month will be full of activities so hopefully I can stay on top of updating!
