They did it!! On November 18th, 2011 Chris and Courtney tied the knot! Luckily, we got to be a part of their special day. Dan and Brad were the best men and both Ava and Ella got to be flower girls! Here are the bride and groom with the "little" portion of their wedding party.

Ava was so excited to show off her "princess" dress, and although she was nervous about walking out in front of so many people, she plastered a smile on her face and she did great! Ella liked her dress, when she was in the mood to wear a dress. Luckily, she was in the mood to wear the dress on the 18th! Ella also planned to smile and even practiced, but when the time came the nerves got the best of her, and she would not crack a smile. She did make it down the isle, which I entirely attribute to Ava's bravery and her tight grip on Ella's hand.
As I mentioned, Dan was one of the best men, here he is looking all handsome with his momma.
Once the ceremony was over, Ella was able to cut loose. She tried to start the dancing early with Grandma Great.

Here we are all together, minus Gavin, who was home with Grandma and Grandpa C and suffering from croup. The poor thing was so miserable he made his first trip to the ER the morning after the wedding. Thankfully, after two weeks he was back to normal.
We're almost all caught up...last week the girls had their annual Winter Festival at school. I tried to handle all three kids at their Thanksgiving feast and it did not go well, so I enlisted the help of Grandma F and therefore managed to get some pictures. Here are all our children together...I still can't believe there's three of them!
The school had all sorts of activities from making ornaments to decorating cookies and of course pictures with Santa. The picture was taken from the side because Santa told me to stand close and watch Gavin, he couldn't see him over his beard and didn't want to drop him....super comforting!
Here's the girls making Christmas cards.
Nicely sitting in their chairs and smiling on command.
Then we got home where the girls are a little more outgoing. This is what we found when we asked the girls, who were fully clothed, to go upstairs and start brushing their teeth.
Before I sign off I need share some recent moments before they are forgotten. Ava has been getting a bit sassier as she ages. She tends to argue with me a bit more and try to bargain to get her way. Just the other day she told me "hey mom, I know that four quarters make a whole" I said "that's great Ava, did you learn that at school?" and she said "yep, now I don't have to go to school anymore!"
And Ella at the age of two is already sassy and still SO stubborn! She wants to do everything herself, and she gets furious if you try to step in to help, even if she is clearly struggling. It's also always important to keep an eye on Ella, because the second she is quite and occupied it usually means she's getting into trouble. Within the last week, she has used all of our band aids, emptied a tube of antibiotic cream, drew on two of Ava's shirts with markers (while Ava was in them, but unaware!?), started to eat a ginger scented ornament, and got both hands simultaneously stuck in the lid of a shape sorter!!! She is a blessing and a handful!!
And then there's Gavin. He is still too young to be getting into trouble, thankfully, but he is definitely an attention hog! He still prefers to be held, has horrible reflux, is allergic to milk proteins and until a few days ago rarely slept longer than an hour at a time. We finally discovered the allergy and once on new formula (Nutramigen...yuk) he has been sleeping much better. On the flip side, he loves to smile, loves to look at books and is so close to laughing! I am doing my best to savor the moments when he wants to be held, because after having Ava and Ella I know how fast they grow up and there is nothing like cuddling with your baby! He also had his two month checkup last week and he weighed in at 13 pounds and just over 24 inches long. Weight and height were just over the 50th percentile and his head was closer to the 70th percentile. Other than the reflux and milk allergies he is in great health!
That's it, we're all caught up, and can't wait till Christmas!!
