I can't believe it's already January 18th! On one hand time has gone by so quickly, but on the other it is still creeping by. I'll explain...the kids and I spent most of December sick. First Ava with a sinus infection, then Ella and Gavin with bad colds, and then me with a cold. I wish I could say we are all in good health now, but this cold seems to just jump between us, affecting Gavin the most right now. Luckily, we were all OK on Christmas. Christmas Eve was spent with my side of the family. G-ma and G-pa Carron, Linzy, Brian and Ashton, and even Kristy came to the house to celebrate. Here are the girls greatly anticipating the presents! Ashton was suppose to be in the picture, but he was too excited to sit.
Here's the whole gang, minus Ashton...still too excited.
Once the presents got under way we were able to catch Ashton in one shot!
Gavin, who was still not 100% spent most of the time hanging out with Papa Jim and/or Grandma.
On Christmas morning the girls were more than excited to let the presents continue.
Here's Ava modeling her new soccer shorts, we still need to register her for actual lessons.
Although they got gifts much more exciting than books, this was the best picture I got of Ella. Speaking of more exciting gifts, this was the year of the LeapPads. G-ma C was able to snag up some LeapPads before the mayhem broke out and they became impossible to find. The girls love playing games and watching episodes of their favorite shows, specifically Team Umizoomi and Bubble Guppies. Just today Ella told me that if my car breaks I should tell her and she will fix it with her mighty math powers....a little too much Umizoomi. They also had their hearts set on getting a Lalaloopsy doll, which were also very hard to find this year....I think they've touched those dolls once since Christmas. Luckily they weren't expensive.
Silly girl.
Later in the day we made it over to G-ma and G-pa F's house, where the girls were elated to find a very large gift with their names on it....a trampoline. It was too cold to jump for long, but they managed to break it in a little.

Ella wasn't sure what to do with all that room to jump.

For a brief moment the girls jumped together, but every time Ava jumped it would knock Ella off her feet.
While the girls were enjoying presents, treats and tons of attention. Gavin enjoyed some sleep, which is very rare!

We're not sure why but Gavin is still not sleeping well at all! So after speeding most of the time awake he tends to crash every once in awhile...sometimes in very shocking places.
After Christmas we started thinking about what to do for New Years. We wanted to do something with the girls, but weren't quite sure what. Dan came up with the idea of getting a hotel room for the night and swimming and enjoying room service with just the girls, so we did. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of the night, but the girls loved staying at a hotel. As soon as we got there they ran around the room pointing out all the "cool" things. Ava would say "look we have our own phone!" then Ella would say "look we have our own phone!" and this went on till most everything in the room was pointed out. It wasn't a fancy room, but something fascinates them about hotel rooms..maybe we need to get out more? The girls had a great time and it was good for the four of us to get out with no baby drama for the night, although I don't think anyone slept very well. I'm sure 2012 will be as crazy, if not crazier than 2011...I just hope Gavin starts sleeping!!
