As you may know Ava is graduating from preschool this year and her school held their annual prom for the "juniors" and "seniors". Being the sister of a senior, Ella got to attend prom as well. The theme this year was "Pirates and Princesses". For their attire the girls just headed down to the basement and picked out the most sparkling dress from the dress up clothes, some accessories, and a crown. Within minutes of getting to prom Ella's crown was off. Upon getting there, the school had planned a scavenger hunt for the kids to a treasure, which was a bag of goodies for each child including a new crown for the girls...Ava put her new crown on right away.
After the scavenger hunt we moved to the dance floor where we found one of Ava's friends, Isabelle.
The lights were off and the strobe light was on, so the pictures aren't great but the girls danced up a storm! Contrary to how it looks, there were more people, but the girls were off in the corner.
After dancing for awhile, we moved to another room where the kids got to pick out a tattoo. They were so proud to show them off.
After dancing some more we headed to the refreshments room for some berry punch (hence the red mustaches) and cupcakes.
By 8 o'clock we had to head home to get Gavin in bed, the girls wanted to head back to the dance floor. They had a cute ship set up by the door for pictures, but because of all the people I couldn't back up far enough to get it in the picture. Plus Ella started freaking out thinking she was going to fall off the bench they were standing on. They had a great time and it was fun to see Ava so outgoing on the dance floor. I still can't believe she's almost done with preschool!
The girls and I had another night out last night. Dan typically takes the girls to baseball games while I stay home with Gavin, but last night we switched it up. Dan stayed home while the girls and I went down to the ballpark. We picked up my friend Becca on the way and I was glad to have the help plus it had been awhile since we've seen her. The girls do good at games but it's always nice to seat them between two people they know so they're more comfortable and we're not annoying too many people:) We had a good time and although the Cards were down 2 to 1 when we left, by the time we got home they were up 7 to 2. Apparently, we weren't bringing them the greatest luck! Oh well....we had fun!
