Easter 2014

This picture may make you think more about the Kentucky derby than Easter, but this was in fact Easter.  We did something new this year…everyone was suppose to bring/make a hat to our Easter celebration and then we voted on who had the best/most creative one.  Not everyone kept their hats on for this picture and G-pa F and myself are behind the cameras.

Shortly after we arrived at G-ma and G-pa F's house the kids wanted to do their own "mini" egg hunt.  Here they are going through their new treasure.

Back inside to re-fuel...

Caught Gavin in a rare moment when he was SITTING STILL!!

Once everyone had arrived we started with a parade to show off all the hats. Gavin brought up the tail end of the parade making his own music.  Gavin is wearing his hat, but while it is suppose to be worn as a visor, this was the only way he would wear it.  I decided to go with a beach theme for our hats/visors since we are SO ready for warmer temperatures, and the possibility of using them around the pool this summer!

Marching around….ridiculous hat and all! :)

The parade got very spread out and I was trying to keep tabs on Gavin, but I did manage to get a shot of Chris, Courtney and baby girl bump.  Lookin good!!

After the parade we had our annual adults and kids egg hunt.  We let the youngest start first to make it as fair as possible.  Here is Gavin (first one out) taking advantage of his small lead.

Fiona witnessed all the fun and took notes…next year she'll probably be the first one out.

Wondering who won the hat contest??  It was Uncle Brad!  Here is a picture of the winning hat...

And finally, G-pa F tried to remain behind the camera, but I wanted to make sure everyone got to see his hat…after all, he was the mastermind behind the big hat contest! :)
