Back to School

Yeah, yeah, yeah it's been awhile…so sue me.
The end of the summer was a blur.  Not that we were crazy busy or on vacation, I just didn't pay attention to the date for a few days and then BAM, school was starting?!?  There were a few birthdays that needed celebrating before summer ended, beginning with Dan's.

The kids decorated a cake for Daddy all by themselves, and then gave him some "homemade" gifts.  Definitely not as involved as the kids' birthdays!

Very shortly after Dan's birthday was Aunt Courtney's birthday which she has the pleasure of sharing with Miss Penny!  Needless to say, Penny stole all the attention from the other birthday girls/boys.

Just one week later we were celebrating another birthday…Ashton!  We went to Ashton's house for a party complete with a shaving cream pit, slip n slide, and cupcakes.  I don't know why but I did not get any good pictures from the party.  My photography skills are slipping. (not that they were much to begin with)
Two short weeks later we were starting school, the girls that is.  As you can see Gavin was not thrilled to be losing his playmates.

Ava started 3rd grade and has Mrs. Duepner (who she loves).  I'm not sure how long it will last but Ava was asking for school to start and so far she loves 3rd grade.

Ella started 1st grade (can't believe it) and has Mrs. Touzinsky, who she adores.  Ava got to have
Mrs. T last year for 2nd grade before she decided to move down to 1st grade.  Both girls think she walks on water.

I had to throw this picture in for all the people who say "aww your girls are so cute" or "aww they are so photogenic".  I have MANY more pictures like this one than I do of the more traditional smiles.

And here comes some clichés….Where has the time gone, what happened to my babies, I can't believe how big they are, Third and first grade..What?!!!!!!  Ok I had to get that out of my system.

Lord help me when this little guy goes off to kindergarten!  This is his mad/upset face, which I'm seeing more and more of since it's just me and him now.

Oh and Zoe, let's not forget about Zoe.  Gavin does his best to 'play' with Zoe, but it never lasts more than two minutes.  It's not due to lack of effort on Zoe's part, Gavin can only play tug of war with someone twice his size for so long.

Just two short weeks later it was Gavin's turn to start school.

Gavin made the switch this year and joined his sisters at SMMA in the 3yr old preschool room (Damn that August 1st cutoff).  He has Mrs. G and Mrs. Trimm who he seems to like.  He just finished his first month and so far he "loves" to play with his friends Mikey, Louis, Peter, Henry, Mia and Molly.

So here's to another school year with no complaining, no tears and straight A's…..right!?
