This one is gonna be a bit crazy so stay with me....
Ava had her Grandparents Day at school, a special thank you to G-ma F for coming down and going through the ENTIRE rosary with the fourth grade class. 😳
Gavin had his annual (and last) class trip to the pumpkin patch.
Ava's volleyball season came to an end. While they still have a few things to learn, this season went much better than last. Ava really enjoyed volleyball and asked if she could start playing year round!? I said we'd have to give up a significant amount of time at the dance studio...maybe next year?
Look at these athletes! Don't let the "Bad News Bears" appearance fool you, this team had a very successful season with only one loss!
Gavin loved scoring goals, I think his record was 10 in one game! Their team seemed a bit stacked, but it was totally unintentional.
Moving right along...
This was a class pic during Ava's Halloween party.
We managed to create some pumpkin masterpieces this year. This one belonged to Gavin and myself.
From left to right we have Brad & Fiona's, mine & Gavin's, Ava's, and Dan & Ella's. I'm not sure we can top these next year.
Our first big round of trick or treating happened at the school's Trunk or Treat event. This was our rather large group we hung out with for the night.
And these were my little candy hoarders....a raccoon, Thor, and Alex Morgan. Unfortunately, Thor's hair only lasted about 5 minutes. To say he hated the hair would be putting it mildly, he did not like anyone even looking at him with that hair. It's a bummer because the hair was great!
Ava's soccer team got together one last time outdoors for the Father/Daughter game. Other than it being SO COLD, and the dad's winning for the first time, it was a fun game. If you're trying to spot Ava, she is behind the girl in the purple coat on the right. You can barely see her over the girl's right shoulder. Dan is in the red hat towards the left. Ava was so upset about losing to the dads. 😢
Next up, was Gavin's Grandparents Day.
Luckily, it came with entertainment and flying pancakes! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa F for coming down!
While we're on the subject of Gavin, he recently earned his yellow belt. This was a big deal because he is no longer a stripe belt, he got to break his first board, and he has started sparring with other students. He is still on a mission for that coveted black belt!
As we drew closer to Christmas, Ava's class put on a Christmas program. They sang many Christmas songs in different languages. Ava was almost impossible to see, she is on the left holding up the sign that says "Frohe Weihnachteal"(i think), it's "Merry Christmas" in German.
Gavin's class got in on the holiday fun as well, him and I got to go with his friends to make gingerbread houses. Here are a few of his classmates.
Him and his good friend Louis
Silly faces...
And finally, right before the much anticipated Christmas break came the class holiday parties. First up was Gavin's party. He must not have been in the mood to party because he was not himself. He's usually quite the ham, but he was not feeling it on that day.
The last day of school consisted of nothing but Mass and parties, including Ava and Ella's parties. I worked Ella's party so I wasn't able to get any pics from Ava's classroom party.
Ella's class was even lucky enough to end the day with a visit from "the man" himself!!
The kids were so happy to finally be on break and so close to Santa's actual visit. Almost as excited as I am right now because I'm so close to being caught up for the year!
