A Day of Beauty

It was a big morning today in the Fritz household. Today was Ava's first haircut. I debated back and forth whether it was time or not....but in the end decided to go for it. Dan and I both thought Ava would NOT enjoy her first haircut so we both planned to be there in case of a meltdown. However, as usual she proved us both wrong and did not shed even one tear. We started by picking out shampoo. There were numerous scents to choose from and we ended up with "Cupcake". Then it was time to wash.....had it not been for the large elephant hose...I don't know that this would have gone so smoothly.
She never took her eyes off that elephant.
She also never let go of my hands.
Our next step was picking out a cool chair for Ava to enjoy. So of all the cars and jeeps Ava chose this silver Mercedes...she has expensive taste...lucky us! In her chair with a blue smock on, she was ready for the cutting to begin.

Her intense concentration here is do to the fact that the little t.v. at this station was playing Nemo, at Ava's request.
After the cut it was time for a quick blow dry.

Finally, Ava got to choose two clips to help style her hair.
And here is the beautiful finished product. We were so proud of her!
For being such a good girl she got a lollipop, which she only had a few sucks of before I had to take it so she didn't destroy it, choke on it, or end up covered in pink.
So this concludes our first hair cutting trip to The Hairy Elephant. Ava was very brave and impressed everyone...especially Mom and Dad!
