No More Excuses

Alright, I'm done making excuses for myself. I just can't seem to keep up with posting pictures in a timely manner. Once I miss a week it seems like so much more work and then I just continue to procrastinate. Anyway, I know it's been awhile so there are a lot of pictures. I started with the most recent and then added all the things I should have added over the last month. On Sunday we took a trip to the Zoo...here is Ava and Dan with the Zebras.
Here is Ava riding on the Gorilla..."big monkey" to her.
I am not usually big on taking pictures of animals...we never use the pics for anything. I did like this picture because this Lion was hanging out in the top of the tree on a branch. I would have zoomed out so you could see how high he/she was but then he/she was hard to spot.
Here are Ava and I posing for Daddy. A smile is a rare thing to catch with a camera.
We enjoyed our day at the zoo and had great company with Uncle Brad, Aunt Becca, Ted (friend from high school), and SuYin (Ted's girlfriend, which I'm sure I'm misspelling her name).
The weekend before the Zoo we had a big event to attend. It was Uncle Brad's first Triathlon. Everyone showed up in support. Here is Uncle Chris and Ava...in some major sun.
Here are Ava, G-ma F, and myself....Becca was there too but she was posted at the finish line awaiting Brad's return.
And here he is.....approaching the finish line.
After swimming, biking, and running the end was in sight.
And of course crossing the finish line...the most important picture! I should note that although the clock reads 2hours and 4?minutes, because they all had different start times Brad actually finished the race in under 2 hours!!
Now we move into the past even further...I believe it was around September 20th. Aunt Linzy came to visit. We kept ourselves busy with a visit to the park. Here we are cuddled on a bench.
One of Ava's new favorite things to do at the park is to climb the pole...not bad for 19months.
We also went down to Forest Park for the annual Balloon Race.
Linzy and Ava just chilled with come crackers before the race was started.
This was Ava showing us where the balloons were...not that that's not obvious.
The Energizer Balloon was the only balloon to get a reaction out of Ava....I wonder why? I only got one picture before I had to chase after her.
The excitement Ava has in this picture is due to the miniature horse she is reaching out to touch. Remember this face because it changes drastically in a second.
I don't know if you can tell, but as soon as Ava was on the horse she looked TERRIFIED. The woman strapped her in then shouted "go go go" to the attendant before the tears could start.
While Ava never lost that terrified look on the horse I must admit she did not shed a tear. The ride was short, thankfully, and soon Ava was back safe in my arms.
Once safe again the smile was back although the girl who was once reaching out to touch the horse now wanted no part in touching the horse!
Ava's favorite part of the Balloon race were these barrels that they had cut into and hooked together. They were giving rides in them earlier in the day and we missed that, but Ava was happy just sitting in them. Thanks for visiting Aunt Linzy!!
Alright, now moving back to around September 9th. Ava and I took a road trip to visit G-ma and G-pa Carron and Aunt Kristy. It was a relaxing 2 days during which I only managed to get my camera out once. So I got a few pics of Ava and G-pa C hanging out outside.
Ava also got to go on a ride on the lawnmower...very exciting!
I should have taken more pics while there, but like I said I was relaxing. Well that brings us up to date on what we have been up to for the last month and then some. I can say I will try to post again soon, but lets face it, it's unlikely.
