Let me start by saying our computer crashed and we just got it back last Saturday. It took me awhile to go through all the photos but here is what we were up to in October. Most recently we had a great Halloween. Ava was dead set on being a princess so the best thing I could come up with for Ella was a pea. For those confused, there is a classic children's book called "The Princess and the Pea". Ella slept through most of the Halloween
festivities so we have yet to get a picture in her costume. One thing we did manage was to take the first picture of all four of us together!

Dad and his girls.

Grandma
and Grandpa Fritz came over and spent some time with Ella so we could take Ava
around the subdivision. Here Ava is showing off all the candy she accumulated trick or treating...more than she'll ever need! Ella's favorite thing about Halloween was the glow stick she's holding in the picture above.

Before trick or treating we had some neighborhood friends come over for pictures. This year went better than last...all the kids are in costume! (Joshua, Peyton, Sydney, Ava and Isabelle)

Earlier in the day Dan, Ava and I spent time outside raking leaves while Ella slept. Ava was not much help raking.

Goofball!

Cheese!

Ava had a blast!

The previous weekend we went to G-ma and G-pa Fritz's for a bonfire. Here we are enjoying some
marshmallows....Ava preferred them NOT roasted.

Dad's
cooking us up some
hot dogs. Ava refers to this experience as to when she went camping. She
now asks me for marshmallows so she can go camping.

Earlier that week we had a small playgroup over for a Halloween party. We were not successful in getting all the kids together for a pic so these were the best I could do. Connor was a UPS guy, Ava a princess, Ellie (to the right of Ava)was a Fairy, and Sienna (with her back to me)was a witch.

Here they are decorating some sugar cookies.

And here are the younger playgroup members Ella(4months), Aidan(3months), and Macy(4months).

Ava also had her first pumpkin carving experience that week. Ava LOVED cleaning out the pumpkin and when Dan asked what she wanted her pumpkin to look like she answered "kitty cat". Dan tried to explain that you're suppose to make a pumpkin face, but Ava wanted a kitty cat.

We were all spectators as Daddy tried to make a kitty cat for his little girl.

So here is how the kitty cat turned out...pretty good! Dan was/is very proud of himself. So much so that we had to find the perfect place outside so everyone could see it and it is still sitting there today,
almost a week later! Ava loved her cat...Dad did good!

Going back
further...the previous weekend was Dan's annual family reunion. The kids enjoyed racing over and over again, here they are heading back to the starting line.

Ella just hung out and watched!

Ella recently started spoon feedings. It did not go well and first so we took a break, but she's doing better now and I'm looking forward to starting veggies at the end of the month.

Ella is now spending most of the day awake. She likes sitting in the
bumbo seat, rolling around on her activity mat, smiling and laughing. I hope to catch some laughing on video...it's pretty funny.

Ava likes her sister more and more. She now tries to help whenever Ella is crying. One trick that seems to work is singing the
Itsy Bitsy Spider. Ella loves that song. I remember when Ava would scream I could sing Ba Ba Black Sheep, which would calm her down. She also occasionally wants to hold Ella....

....however it is short lived and when she's done...SHE"S DONE!

One other thing I wanted to share is Ava's new ability to remember what you said and use it on you later. For example, when I need Ava to leave a room or come with me somewhere and she won't, I tell her I am going to turn off all the lights and she then follows. So this morning she woke up earlier than usual so I brought her in bed with me. She said she wanted to go downstairs and I said I wanted to lay down a little longer. She then told me she was going to turn off all the lights so I had to go downstairs! I laughed so hard, woke right up and took her downstairs...so I guess it worked!
