We can't say there has been any lack of snow this year. It feels like every time the snow is almost gone, mother nature gives us a few more inches. Two weeks ago after one of the snowfalls we managed to get outside and enjoy some sledding!
While having a large hill in the backyard means we never have to go far for great sledding, it also means we have to manage to get back up the hill.
It wasn't an easy task for Dan nor I.
Going down the hill was much more fun!
Weeeee....
Ava did go down the hill a couple times by herself and although she never crashed, she liked pretending like she did...
I think Ella was just happy to be outside. We had no snow clothes in Ella's size, but that didn't stop her, she just waddled around in Ava's old stuff. She loved soaking up some vitamin D.
Here's another view of Ella's wardrobe.
Here's Ava and I staying warm.
Here is Ella totally stuck in the snow with a big smile! I will also take this opportunity to give some new stats on Ella. We had her 18 month checkup in December and I have been meaning to post her results. Ella was 22 pounds (18%) and 32.5 inches tall (75%) and her head has jumped to the 65%. I have a little doubt in her height measurements, the nurse measured her at 31.5(25%) then the doctor re-measured and had her an inch taller, so she may be somewhere in the middle. In other Ella news...she is talking more and more and although she still occasionally goes on the potty, we are still far from being potty trained.
Ava is also growing like a weed and getting so smart! She loves school and lately her new love is spelling words, or names I should say. She likes to draw pictures of people and label them all with names. I don't have a picture of Ava's drawings but I will say she makes sure all her people have ears, especially me, I always have rather large ears. Ava is still cracking us up with her silly statements. Not long ago Dan told Ava to ask me if we could get a puppy. Anticipating my answer she turned to me and said "hey mom can I have a snake?" of course I said "no way", then she followed it up with "then can we have a puppy?"--- so clever! She also can be a real sweetheart. The Sunday before my birthday she woke up and said "happy birthday week mommy". I said "thanks Ava what would you like to do today?" and she said "I want to have a thank you party to thank you for all the things you do for us."---so sweet.
