Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

With the usual school Christmas festivities, then the ski trip and then Christmas I feel like the break came and went in a flash.  The girls returned from their ski trip on Christmas eve and everyone was bright eyed, bushy tailed and ready to open presents Christmas morning.

I have to have on record the fact that at 7 years old Ava was dead set on getting this little stuffed crocodile for Christmas.  She saw it in Schnucks MONTHS before and asked for it repeatedly!  It was the first thing mentioned when asked what she wanted from Santa and it was probably her favorite gift she received.  She is crazy over this crocodile?

Gavin's list also consisted of one main thing…a space rover?  It is big, loud, has lots of pieces and shoots stuff…right up Gavin's alley.

Ella made it pretty easy this year.  Anytime she was asked what she wanted from Santa she would just say "she wants whatever Santa is going to bring her, she's sure it will be stuff she likes".  Santa brought her some pretty awesome stuff.

Once we made a mess of our house we drove over to G-ma and G-pa F's house to continue the Christmas magic.  It started with making sugar cookies with GRANDPA!  Of course G-ma and I had to swoop in once everyone started losing interest and especially for the cleanup.

The sugar cookie mess was cleaned up just in time to open more presents, resulting in an even bigger mess.

The kids got so many things they still haven't played with it all and it's almost mid-January!

Here's Gavin and Daddy with Gavin's new fishing vest…he loves all those pockets!

After dinner we managed to do something we have sadly never done.  We got a picture of G-ma and G-pa and all the grand kids...

we even took it one step further and got one of all of us together!!  Not a bad picture considering how many kids/babies/dogs are there!  We'll have to make this an annual thing.

As the night got later, things got a little crazy.  Leave it to Uncle Brad to get out the cool whip!  This time Ella wanted to be in charge...

and here's what happens when you put one of my children in charge of something sweet!

The day after Christmas G-ma and G-pa C came in town for some holiday cheer.  By this point the kids were professional gift openers.  Even turning to the camera with smiles plastered on their faces when they heard "say cheese".

They never wanted it to end…even enjoying when someone else got something cool.

If you go back a few posts to around Halloween Ella can be seen in a picture with a box my parents used for decoration, but Ella used as a treasure box.  So for Christmas G-ma and G-pa C got her her own treasure box complete with "jewels" and all.

She was SO excited.

Ava as in love with stuffed animals today as she was when she was two, was beside herself to receive a build-a-bear gift card.  Now we just need to get to build-a-bear.

We didn't get another picture all together, I need to get myself a remote and a tripod like Uncle Chris.

It was a wonderful Christmas holiday and like I said, it flew by.  We spent New Years Eve with some nice neighbors and their children.  The kids played, we got some adult interaction, and we were all asleep by 10pm.  It was a perfect evening, picture-less, but otherwise perfect!  Happy New Year everyone and bring it on 2015!!
