Exhaustion

There is something to be said about over doing it, and sometimes I feel like we are walking the line between 'being involved' and 'being in everything'.  As if we weren't doing enough, we recently signed Gavin up for a Gallagher soccer team.  Does he love soccer? Nope.  Is he really good at soccer? Nope.  (sorry Gavin, lots of potential though)  Do we feel like if we don't sign him up now we are doing him an injustice if he decides he does want to play select soccer in the future? Yep.  The level of talent and competition at such a young age now is astounding.  He's having fun right now and we just hope that that continues.  Here he is on his way to one of his first practices...clearly the anticipation wore him out!

Gavin had the privilege of being the first one done with school.  He actually missed his last day of school because he was on a trip to DISNEY WORLD with G-ma F (I still have to get the pics), but he did make it back in time to go to the end of the year field day.
Enjoying some cool treats with Louis and Liam...

Candy hunt on the hill...I have no idea where Gavin is.
He got to play games, have an instrument parade, play on the playground, get tattoos, and eat lunch with all his friends.  He had so much fun in SMMA's preschool program, but he is VERY ready to start kindergarten!

A week later it was the girls' turn for last day pics.  They finished 4th and 2nd grade with all A's and they are beyond thrilled to start summer break!

I haven't mentioned taekwondo in awhile, but we are still there at least once, if not twice a week.  Gavin is working towards earning his 5 credits needed in order to move to the next colored belt. (3 to go)  His place, studio, dojo, whatever it's called, does things differently than any other place I've heard of, and I'm starting to think it's so they can keep you there FOREVER!  Gavin is on a mission to get that coveted black belt, and at this rate he will succeed when he's about 20 years old. 😩 We've had many friends come and go, but for any one who doesn't know Gavin, I can assure you, he will not give up.  If we ever stop TKD it will be because Mom gave up.

So Dan and Ella ran to Same Club for a few things (FOOD) and now we have this...
Where do we store this? Excellent question that has yet to be answered.  Who wants to spend an hour setting it up when it's 100 degrees? No one.  Is it easy to put away? God no, it's worse than setting it up.  Are they durable?  Nope, one already when back to Sams full of holes.  Would we have this if I had been at Sams? No way.  Does Dad have the reputation for the "fun one"? Absolutely.

One day while Ava was at a cooking camp and Gavin was at baseball camp, Ella and I spent a little time at Grants Farm.  I did not realize everyone else in STL would also be at Grant's Farm.  So by the time we got into the Farm we had about 10 minutes before we had to leave.  She did have time to feed the goats and the birds, which is really all she probably cared to do.

After returning to pick up Gavin from baseball camp he had a nice little shiner.  This picture is after almost two weeks!  I know what you're thinking, ball to the face, maybe a bat? You would be wrong, this is from another kid's head!  The story I get doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but it's all healed now.

That brings us up towards the end of June, which means recital time.  With nationals right around the corner I didn't take a lot of pictures, but I did take a few videos of the dances.  You'll have to come visit in order to see those. I would try to upload them to the blog, but I'll get in trouble if I throw my computer through the window. Haha, but for real.
There's one more important thing that happens this time of year, any guesses??

P.S. Upon proofing this post I realize I have done a lot of asking/answering questions. Did I realize I was doing that at the time? Nope. LOL
P.S.S. I use the term "proofing" very loosely.  I was a FAR cry from an english major.
